CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS – 2012 CASINO EVENT May 2nd and 3rd, 2012!

Casino events are huge financial contributors to Calgary’s communities and charitable organizations. The proceeds from these events provide funding for facility operations and ongoing delivery of the various programs offered by the communities. Our Brentwood Community Association casino dates are now set for Wednesday, May 2 and Thursday, May 3, 2012. The venue of the event is the ‘Calgary Casino’ in north-east Calgary.

Our community needs about 50 volunteers for this event to cover the shifts for the various positions during the two day event. The shifts for the different positions vary in length with the day shifts starting about 10:30 am and the night shifts ending around 2am. The positions for each shift consist of a banker, a cashier, chip runners and various count room staff. No experience is necessary, as casino management will provide the required training on site. Volunteers have to be 18 years or older, and are not allowed to drink or gamble during their assigned shift. Volunteers have to provide their own transportation and carpooling is encouraged. Refreshments and meals will be supplied.

Please let us know if you are interested and available to help out on this event. Contact Hans Firla at 403-289-4686 or e-mail hans.firla@shaw.ca before March 1, 2012. Alternately, you can sign up for one of the volunteer positions during the forthcoming soccer registration in February. Please provide your name, phone number, e-mail address and shift availability/preference.

The community thanks you in advance for volunteering your time for this worthy cause.

BRENTWOOD COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION BOARD NEEDS VOLUNTEERS!

Part of our mandate as a Community Association is to provide services to our community at reasonable costs.

One way we keep our costs reasonable is to have volunteers and to fundraise.

We have two set fundraising activities - Grey Cup raffle tickets and a Casino - that raise considerable funds for our programs.

Our current volunteer has changed roles and we have had one person step up to co-ordinate Grey Cup raffle tickets.  We are now looking for an additional person to coordinate our next Casino.

Find out how you can contribute to this fun and extremely valuable position within our community.

For more information, call Linda at the Brentwood office @ 403-284-3477 or e-mail @  brntwdca@telus.net
